Rising 9th/10th graders are able to apply for an academy at any St. Johns County Public School. Admissions into academy programs are done through a lottery system. There is an application window every year. It typically begins in January and closes in February. If admitted into an academy program, students can attend an out of zone school. Transportation is not provided to out of zone schools.

Beginning in middle school and transitioning to high school, students will have access to Naviance. Naviance is a program for students to explore possible careers through taking a career survey, exploring colleges and universities that offer those careers, and finding scholarships. Access to the link is below and you will also find it on the students links page on the SPMS website. Students can log in using their student number and password (sign on info for HAC).

8th graders receive a lesson in their History classes on career exploration. Counselors use Naviance to have students take a career inventory test and students are taught to navigate the Naviance program.
