The St Johns County School District Health Services will be conducting our annual health screening on January 21st<\/sup>, 2027<\/strong>.\u00a0 These screenings will be conducted through your student\u2019s PE class and is only for 6<\/strong>th<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0grade students<\/strong>.\u00a0 Your student will be offered a free screening that includes height, weight, vision, hearing, and scoliosis.\u00a0 If you wish to opt out of the testing, please\u00a0fill out the form<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and return it to the clinic no later than January 7th, \u00a02027<\/u><\/strong>. \u00a0You can have your student drop the form off in the clinic or email it to:<\/p>

End of School Year Procedures<\/h2>

As we near the end of the school year, I would like to remind you that your child\u2019s medication should be picked up from the clinic by 11:00 am on June 1, 2026.<\/u><\/strong> School policy does not allow medication to remain in the school over the summer. It will be important for you to plan to pick up your child\u2019s medication since medications may not go home with the student except for emergency medications (Epi -Pens, Inhalers, etc\u2026) Any medication left in the clinic after 11:00 am on June 1, 2026<\/u><\/strong>, will be discarded according to policy.<\/p>

Medication forms will be sent home with your child before the end of the year. As you know, medication orders must be completed every school year whether your child remains in the same school or goes to another. If your child has a physical examination during the summer months, this is a good time to get the medication forms completed.\u00a0 The forms can also be found here: www-raider.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/clinic\/<\/p>

For your convenience, the clinic will be open beginning August 6th<\/sup> & 7th<\/sup> to accept your child\u2019s medication and completed medication forms.<\/p>

Upcoming School Year<\/strong><\/h2>

Students entering 7th grade next year will need to provide the school Guidance department proof of their Tdap vaccine before they can receive their schedule for the 2026\/2027 school year. It is not too early to take care of this requirement. You can take your student to their private physician, the St. Johns County Health Department, or a walk-in clinic. If you choose to go to a walk-in clinic, a receipt will NOT be accepted as proof of the Tdap vaccine.\u00a0The vaccine must be documented on a Florida shot record (FL \u2013 680) and brought to school.<\/strong>\u00a0If you have any questions, call Nurse Kelly at 547-8628.<\/p>
