This will enable principals and district staff to communicate with parents and families using voice, email and text messaging. \u00a0In the event that you do not want to receive alerts via text message, please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/schoolmessenger\/\">SchoolMessenger<\/a> web page and complete the opt-out form. It includes the topics to be taught week by week each quarter and a list of instructional resources. The Year-at-a-Glance is only a recommended pacing guide; school leaders and teachers make the final decision regarding the pacing of any program of study. The classroom teacher is always the best source of information regarding content and pacing. Students are NOT allowed to sit outside or in the main office unsupervised waiting for their ride. Arrangements MUST to be made in advance if your child plans on staying after school or they should not stay. If a child is not picked up within 30 minutes of the designated pick-up time, the student will be sent to Beyond the Bell in the library. The parent will then be charged $1 a minute until the student is picked up. After 3pm, teachers are giving their personal time and it is frustrating when they have to sit with a student for 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or sometimes longer waiting on a student to be picked up. We have to make changes to our policy or teachers will stop offering after school activities and we do not want that to happen.<\/p><p>\u00a0<i>News from the District &#8211; Access to the Building<br \/><\/i>ALL parents that plan on entering the building during the day before or after school, even if students are not in the building, need to be cleared. We are asking that EVERY parent or guardian that might be on campus for a conference, IEP meeting, 504 meeting or for anything else, PLEASE click on the link below to register for access.<\/p><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/volunteer\/\">http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/volunteer\/<\/a><\/p><p><em>St. Johns County Dress Code<br \/><\/em>No sleeveless shirts, muscle shirts, tank tops or spaghetti strap tops No backless shirts or dresses No shirts that reveal midriff or reveal cleavage No see-through or lace shirts with a tank underneath No yoga pants Shirts may not have profanity or inappropriate slogans advertising alcohol, drugs, sex, weapons, racial and\/or ethnic slurs, sadistic or violent themes or the confederate flag. No flip flops or backless shoes ALL dresses, shorts and skirts MUST be 4 inches or less above the knee in length. If leggings or tights are worn, the outer garment must still be in dress code. No jeans or shorts with holes showing skin anywhere 4 inches above the knee. Pants MUST be worn at the waist.<\/p><p><em>Early Checkout Procedure<br \/><\/em>As a safety precaution, students will only be released to the parent\/guardian or the Emergency Contact listed on the Emergency Card. A current driver&#8217;s license or state issued ID must be presented in the front office to check a student out early. The following procedure will be strictly enforced: NO student may be signed out after 1:15 pm every day except Wednesday. The latest early checkout on Wednesday is 12:15 p.m. Parents must arrive in the front office no later than 1:15 pm (or 12:15 pm on Wednesday) in order to sign their child out early. Students who check out during the school day due to illness are not eligible to return to the school that same evening for any activities as a participant or a member of the audience.<\/p><hr \/><hr \/><p>HOME ACCESS CENTER (HAC)<\/p><p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/hac\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">HAC Information<\/a><\/p><p>Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL) options are available. Parents who wish to consider course acceleration should review eligibility criteria and process referenced in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/cs\/spp\">District Student Progression Plan<\/a> and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.stjohns.k12.fl.us\/families\/resource\"> Parent Resource Guide<\/a>\u00a0<\/p><hr noshade=\"noshade\" size=\"2\" width=\"99%\" \/><p><i><b>Attention 6th Grade Parents<\/b><\/i><\/p><p>Students entering the 7th grade will need to provide the school Guidance Department with proof of their child&#8217;s Tdap vaccine before they can receive their schedule for the current school year. \u00a0It is not too early to take care of this requirement. You may go to your private physician, the St. Johns County Health Department\u00a0 904-825-5055 or a walk-in clinic. If you choose a walk-in clinic a receipt will NOT be accepted as proof of the Tdap vaccine. The vaccine must be documented on a Florida shot record. It would be advisable to bring a copy of your child&#8217;s past shot record if you choose a walk in clinic.
